| Teacups For all you avid "teacup" shoppers. First of all you do not produce teacups from breeding two three pound parents. This type of breeding usually results in disaster. Chihuahuas under four pounds need to be "pets" and SHOULD NOT BE BRED. Breeding small chihuahuas usually carry few puppies and the puppies usually get bigger than their parents. The same result can be achieved by breeding a larger female to a small lineage male. I have done this time and time again. I do have three rather large females, however, some of the puppies never reach the females size and I have done my job correctly and safely. The below puppies are proof 10 pound girls can produce something for teacup fanciers. All the below puppies were born to females 8-9 lbs. Sit back in awe as these girls too can carry 6-9 puppies and majority of these puppies are breed standard. |

| Pursuant to 59 O.S. 5001, et. seq, I do not have more than 10 breeding females and as such, I am not a commercial pet breeder. |

Why I choose not to be Oklahoma State Licensed I am a SMALL hobby breeder and breed for pleasure, NOT money. The Oklahoma Pet Breeder's Act is all about the state raping the funds from the larger breeders. The Oklahoma Pet Breeder's Act has always had a definition of the puppymill bill and that is exactly what it is. The state collecting funds from the mills. They do not want to eliminate the puppymills, they want to collect their share of the mill's profits. I have never seen so many multiple breed facilities with large amounts of dogs provide alot of care for their animals, but yet the state is passing them to collect revenue from them. A small breeder like myself could never afford the license. Minimum the license costs close to a $1000!! Tell me that's not the state collecting an easy payday! This law was never about the welfare of the animals! I am hindered from keeping my dogs/puppies out of rescues and shelters by this law! I am infuriated that I can no longer take back any of the puppies I sell unless they are spayed/neutered. The reason is because they "count" if they are unaltered. Tell me how it is in the best interest of the animals' welfare when I can no longer be responsible for each and every puppy I sell? The other thing I have against the Act is who wants to treat their pets/family members like an inmate by permanent identification?!?! I refuse to be categorized with those kind of people!!! Our pets should be members of our families and not just another barcode. I have never needed a contract because I stand behind my puppies. I am willing to work with anyone if an issue arises. I do not see allowing an "inspector" onto my property bringing all the diseases from the other larger kennels in to my home and exposing and destroying what I have worked so hard to build. When this law becomes about the welfare of the animals and not about the state collecting a huge easy payday, I may decide to get licensed. Until then, I will remain unlicensed and at 10 females. |
