A little about me As a child, my mother always raised Chihuahuas. For the last eight years, I have specialized in raising well-socialized purebred Chihuahua’s that make the perfect companion pet. My philosophy is breeding is about quality not quantity. I do my best to search each puppy for birth defects at 8 wks before they come home to you. If there is something about my puppies I find not attractive then I spay/neuter who I deem responsible for that quality. I strive to keep my adults free from any known genetic defect however this doesn’t keep defects from popping up from time to time since I don’t know how the line was bred in the past. How I got started Chihuahuas are the only pets to have, in my opinion, so I only raise Chihuahuas. I got my first Chihuahua when my husband deployed to Iraq. A second Chihuahua was added for a companion for her. After that I was hooked. Love was in the air. By the time my husband came home from Iraq, I had four Chihuahuas. I became obsessed with trying to predict what colors to breed together and what I may get in their children so the only option for me was to get more chihuahuas to keep my mind at ease. In June of 2007, we planted our roots in the state of Oklahoma vowing to never move again. After a third deployment to Iraq, most of you will now get the opportunity to meet my wonderful husband who has been very supportive of my dream. He designed the first version of my website for me and my babies. Visit www.anysoldier.com to send care packages to our troops in Iraq What it’s about I have always bred the blue bloodline. I am always trying to improve customer satisfaction by adding different colors/bloodlines to create variety. Now I own my very first longhaired Chihuahuas. There is unbelievable amount of joy in adding a little furry life to another family and watching how happy the families are with their new addition. I breed for this reason and because I like it and I am good at it. Along with finding homes for my little darlings, I also develop many wonderful friendships along the way. I do not breed for tinies(teacup) but occasionally I have one or two. I do not do what I do for money. I do not need the money. All proceeds go into making and improving my little families lives. Because money is not a concern for me, not everyone gets one of my babies. It must be the right home for each and every little pup I sell. I have and will reserve the right to tell anyone I won’t sell them a pup if it's not the right home. How I price my puppies My prices on my puppies range between $250-$650. I do not believe in price gouging the public. Higher price puppies do not guarantee you a healthier, happier puppy. Of course there is higher quality and that will be reflected reasonably in my pricing. I usually price puppies according to how I want to keep them. If you see a puppy over $650, you will know I really want to keep that puppy but if you're willing to meet my price, the puppy is yours. Rarely will you see puppies priced at the higher end, but I have been known to price puppies that high. My prices are reasonable because I do not want people to be so judgemental of their puppy that they will never be happy with their baby. The more one pays for a puppy, the more expectations one will have for their new addition and the puppy would have to be PERFECT. There is no perfect puppy. I don't want anyone to think if they pay a high price then their baby is flawless. At anytime throughout your pets life you find you can not keep them, please contact me for replacement of your puppy/adult. I love knowing where my babies live at all times. I will take back any baby from CHC no questions asked and no hard feelings. No money will be given back however. I have more respect for those who do contact me in the event that they can not keep their baby and it shows the respect you have for me. Life happens and I understand that. There is never a need to take a CHC baby to a shelter and no excuse for it. Do you realize what happens at an animal shelter? Animals in shelters are euthanized 90% of the time!!!! So please contact me in the event you can't keep your baby. I will find him/her a suitable home. How my little families live I have an "open door" policy. This means you are welcome to look at my Chihuahua House without stepping into it. I have received huge compliments on the housing of my adults and referrals from vets on the health of my puppies. My Chihuahuas have their own little house with heating and air conditioning. None of my little family lives in a cages. All are well socialized and love being around everyone that lives in my house. Infact, Everyone who has been at my house has commented how my chihuahuas love to be petted. My little family is divided into groups and that is the group they live with day in and day out. Each group has their own doggie door inside their house with a fenced yard awaiting them on the other side. As their nutrition, I feed IAMS with extras when they are pregnant or nursing. I now feed my babies Purina Puppy Chow, but my adults still get Iams. I am present for each and every delivery no matter what time it happens. Mom comes into my house where they stay as a family until the pups are weaned. After weaning, the pups remain in the house until they come home to you. Puppies start newspaper breaking when weaning starts. My puppies are not allowed outside ever. I am always changing or modifying things as I go along trying to improve their lives to the absolute best it can be. Sometimes despite all my efforts to out think my dogs, they end up out thinking me. :) All my dogs are pets that have babies and not just stock to make money. I love seeing each of my babies as they grow up. I always try to stay in touch with everyone who buys a baby from me. This is my only true way of knowing what size they become as adults. Thank you for your time and consideration for one of my littlest babies. Hope you find what you’ve dreamed of in my nursery. Why I choose not to be Oklahoma State Licensed I am a SMALL hobby breeder and breed for pleasure, NOT money. The Oklahoma Pet Breeder's Act is all about the state raping the funds from the larger breeders. The Oklahoma Pet Breeder's Act has always had a definition of the puppymill bill and that is exactly what it is. The state collecting funds from the mills. They do not want to eliminate the puppymills, they want to collect their share of the mill's profits. I have never seen so many multiple breed facilities with large amounts of dogs provide alot of care for their animals, but yet the state is passing them to collect revenue from them. A small breeder like myself could never afford the license. Minimum the license costs close to a $1000!! And that price is just for a piece of paper and 15 minutes of work on the inspectors part. Tell me that's not the state collecting an easy payday! This law was never about the welfare of the animals! I am hindered from keeping my dogs/puppies out of rescues and shelters by this law! I am infuriated that I can no longer take back any of the puppies I sell unless they are spayed/neutered. The reason is because they "count" if they are unaltered. Tell me how it is in the best interest of the animals' welfare when I can no longer be responsible for each and every puppy I sell? The other thing I have against the Act is who wants to treat their pets/family members like an inmate by permanent identification?!?! I refuse to be categorized with those kind of people!!! Our pets should be members of our families and not just another barcode. I have never needed a contract because I stand behind my puppies. I am willing to work with anyone if an issue arises. I do not see allowing an "inspector" onto my property bringing all the diseases from the other larger kennels in to my home and exposing and destroying what I have worked so hard to build. When this law becomes about the welfare of the animals and not about the state collecting a huge easy payday, I may decide to get licensed. Until then, I will remain unlicensed and at 10 females. |
